Jeff is currently employed as a C.P.A. with Sedore & Company, based in Poughkeepsie. Jeff and Gretchen met while attending York College, graduating in 2000. Jeff began working for a regional accounting firm, earning his C.P.A. liscence in 2002. A year later the Brown's moved to Montgomery a home coming for Gretchen, who was born and raised in Orange County. Their daughter, Ellie was born in August. Each DivorceCare session has a specific video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. Some of the topics covered are: Facing Anger, Depression, Loneliness, New Relationships, Financial Survival, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation. Each member receives a workbook which includes areas for note taking during video seminars, a 5-day bible study and a section for journaling. Following the video there is an open discussion regarding the specific topic presented and an opportunity to share what is going on in the lives of group members that week. And while the opportunity is presented to share, there is never pressure to do so. Through DivorceCare, members become part of a “family” who understand the hurts, emotions and painful experiences of divorce and separation. It is a safe and caring environment designed to help each member through the healing process. Group members may choose to attend the sessions a second or third time if they feel the need. Child care is provided to assist parents in attending. DivorceCare is about healing, restoring hope and rebuilding lives. For ten years prior he served Goodwill as choir director, minister of music, and ruling elder. He has a BA in music composition from SUNY Empire State College, an MDiv from Alliance Theological Seminary, and a DMin from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary via the Arrow Leadership Program. He is a Chaplain (Captain) in the US Air Force / US Air National Guard, an adjunct professor of preaching at Alliance Theological Seminary, and a Global Leadership Associate. (Global Leadership is a leadership training ministry for under-resourced countries.) In the eight years he has pastored Goodwill, the church has grown from about 100 to about 850 in weekly attendance with more than 1200 people calling Goodwill their home church. He and his wife Shannon have been married since 1988. He met her at Goodwill! They have a beautiful baby daughter, Kelsie Mae, and 2 spoiled, poorly behaved cats. John likes classical music, running (short distances slowly) every day, reading obscure books on philosophy and theology, and drinking strong, overpriced coffee. Shannon likes traveling, shopping, eating out, and dreaming of ways to redecorate the house. The Werkema's appreciated the good practical Biblical teaching of the Word of God every week. The music helps us to worship. John was instrumental in taking the lead in developing the Men's Ministry. He is also very involved with Omega Knights, the motorcycle ministry. John and Adriane reside in Newburgh and have three grown children, Anna, AJ and Adriane. Gary and Kathy have severed together as ushers. Gary became a deacon in 2004. Gary is a CPA at the accounting firm of Nugent & Haeussler, P.C. where he has worked for the past 18 years. Kathy is employed as a teacher at Chapel Field Christian Highschool. Gary and Kathy reside in Pine Bush with their two daughters Bethany and Kristen. He soon became a Deacon and then an Elder. Perry has served in one or the other of these capacities ever since making the commitment to this body of believers in Jesus Christ. Perry has been married to his wife Judy for 31 years. They are the parents of two grown children and the grandparents to five grandchildren. Perry is the owner of an excavating company and a Rooter Man franchise. He is known to love a challenge and is looking forward to the future expansion of Goodwill Church. Prior to attending Goodwill Walt and his family were attending a non-denominational fellowship. They came to visit that 'little church down the road', and have been here at Goodwill ever since. Walt and his wife became members in 2001. Initially they served as ushers. In 2005 Walt became a member of the Deacon Board. During the past year Walt served as the chairman of the deacon board, and became an elder at the beginning of this year. Walt holds a degree in Electrical Technology from SUNY Orange, and a BS in Computer Science from Union College. He began working for IBM after graduating from college in 1978, was promoted to Associate Engineer, and is currently working as an Advisory Programmer. Walt met his wife, Chris, at a christian coffee house, and two years later they were married. Chris currently is a science teacher at Chapel Field High School, where she has taught for the past 18 years. The Schweiger's reside in Montgomery where they have raised two daughers Laura and Amanda. Laura is currently completing graduate work to become a History Professor at Catholic University. Amanda is an undergraduate student at Liberty University. Walt and his family enjoy spending time together camping, hiking and fishing. They had been very active in their previous congregation, but after seeking the Lord's guidence felt lead to seek out an new church home. In 2004, they became members and a year later Doug became a deacon. Doug served as a police officer in the city of Newburgh for 22 years, serving as the PBA president during his time on the force. Currently he is employed by a local law firm. Doug and Carolyn have been married for 23 years. They reside in Newburgh, where Doug has been a lifetime resident. They have two grown children, James and Jessica. Doug is an active member of the Tres Dias Community and the Monday Night Men's Fellowship.
